Badminton @ Concorde Sports Centre
Concord Sports Centre
Have YOU got what it takes to be successful in a social sports game?

The key qualities are a killer instinct mixed with a GREAT sense of FUN and respect for your opponents abilities. That means we play to win, but only to maximise the level excitement and enjoyment. All winning and losing is done with a handshake and a smile!

Our games each Wednesday at Concord are for all levels, however you will need to be reasonably fit, have good coordination and not be afraid to move quickly and possibly break into a sweat. Courts will be graded according to ability and you should play most games against others of a similar ability.

Note that our events are run at or near cost price. The amount you pay will depend on the number of players who show up. There is a non-member booking fee of £1 per event.

The AWESOME FourSome Requested 2
Magna

There's nothing like a bit of a scare
to AWAKEN the senses and make you feel truly alive.
A trip to Alton Towers can do it,
but for the ULTIMATE awakening,
you need the ULTIMATE fairground ride -
an EXTREME experience,
and there aren't many more EXTREME experiences
than the AWESOME FOURSOME
right on our doorstep at Magna in Rotherham.

The Awesome Foursome is:
  1. a 250ft zip wire ride
  2. a 150ft abseil
  3. the powerfan
  4. the world’s only indoor bungee jump
"Magna is the first and only place in the world
to offer this intense indoor adrenaline rush,
guaranteed to appeal to anyone with a taste for adventure."
http://www.myvenues.co.uk

No previous experience or talent is required
other than the belief that this is JUST a fairground ride
that is much safer than crossing the road.
Your whole being will alert you to the dangers,
but your conscious mind has to assess the situation logically.

Here's how to do it: here's how to go from being

a scaredy cat

to being a tiger!

If you threw a big sack of spuds over the edge,
it would return unharmed every time.
There is no fear, there is no uncertainty,
every spud comes back exactly the same as it was before.

The difference between us and a humble potato
is that we bring past experiences into the equation,
we tell ourselves that

height = danger

and this is good.

FEAR is what keeps us out of trouble.
But even when things are 100% safe we can STILL experience fear.
This is where we need to master the art of taming our fears.

SO,

what do you do if you have the chance
to take part in a fantastic experience of a lifetime,
where the risks are invisibly small
and yet the fear you FEEL is real but illogical.

This is the moment to take control of yourself.
PROVE that you can master your illogical fears.
Stop making excuses, stop holding yourself back.
Life itself will never be the same!

Unlike the humble potato,
you WILL be a changed person after the experience.
AND ... if you do it for charity,
you can change somebody else's life too.

Eleanor Roosevelt once advised us all to
"Do one thing every day that scares you."

... ah yes but - that was EASY for her to say -
Magna hadn't opened in her time!
